NASA Technology Briefings at SAMPE 2003

The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) and NASA are again providing SAMPE 2003 attendees with an expanded overview of advanced materials and processing technology through the use of open forum technology presentations.

SAMPE 2003, which is being held May 11-15, 2003 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA, will feature presentations by several of NASA’s Technology Centers.

SAMPE and NASA have set aside an entire afternoon for oral presentations in the open forum designated as “”NASA’s Advanced Materials Program: Bringing Space Technology Back Down to Earth””. NASA presentations will focus on four technology areas:
– Ion Conducting Polymer Membranes for Fuel Cells and Polymer Lithium Batteries – MaryAnn Meador and James Kinder
– Polymer Nanocomposites – Sandi Campbell
– Transparent, Anti-Static Polyimide/Carbon Nanotube Composites for Potential Space Applications – John Connell
– Wholly Aromatic Liquid Crystal Thermoset Polymers – Diane Hope
