MSC.Software Corp. is to form an alliance partnership with AlphaSTAR Corporation (ASC) to provide comprehensive simulation capability of composites, ceramic, and metallic material systems.
“”The level of product complexity in today’s leading manufacturing companies is driving the need for virtual product development,”” said Frank Kovacs, vice president strategic alliances, MSC.Software. “”Increasingly, today’s product requirements are demanding the use of more advanced material systems such as composites to achieve lighter and stronger products.
Augmenting the leading capability of MSC.Nastran with ASC’s GENOA provides our customers with the absolute best-in-class system for evaluating composites, ceramics and the most advanced material systems.””
“”With the rapid growth of composites in manufacturing, companies will benefit greatly from having a verified and accurate capability that the MSC.Nastran-GENOA solution suite offers,”” commented Frank Abdi, CEO of AlphaSTAR Corporation. “”In today’s virtual product development environments, it is critical to include the accurate simulation of composite behaviour to achieving safe, reliable products at an affordable cost.””
“”We have been working with the ASC team for some time with US customers,”” said Reza Sadeghi, vice president solver products, MSC.Software. “”With their support, and the enhancements in the current release of MSC.Nastran, we are able to perform comprehensive design validation and life studies for complex composite structures with higher levels of accuracy.””
MSC Software attracted the interest of Volkswagen earlier this month when the German automotive manufacturer invested in the software to improve their virtual product development process.
