More Price Increases

AOC will increase prices by 100 Euros per metric ton on all products, including resins and gel coats in Europe shipped on or after 1 March, 2003. Consideration is being given to an additional 100 Euro increase that would be effective 15 March, 2003. The continuation of sharply higher energy and raw material price increases cannot be absorbed.

Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division announced a $0.05 per pound price increase on its full line of CoREZYN® and Silmar® brand unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, and specialty resin products, and a $0.04 per pound increase on its gel coat, colorant and putty products for shipments on or after March 15, 2003. “This price increase has been initiated due to continued pressure on crude oil and all of its derivatives including Ethylene, Benzene, and Propylene, causing them to substantially increase. This in turn has driven up the price of Styrene Monomer, Glycols, Dibasic Acids and most other petrochemicals. It is impossible for manufacturers to absorb these sharply higher raw material prices. The ongoing threat of war, uncertainty in Venezuela and the generally uneasy global political situation are all contributing factors” explained Steve Wetzel, National Sales Manager.
