MICAM has been selected by Carillion at Gatwick Airport to supply its Horizon wall lining system as part of a £ 75 million upgrade to Pier 5 in North Terminal.
According to MICAM, the project will increase the capacity and utilisation of the existing Pier 5 and will include construction of a new departures corridor to be built on top of the existing pier together with the reconfiguration of a number of aircraft stands as Gatwick aims to improve passenger flow. Works are due to start immediately and will be completed by summer 2014.
MICAM explains that its wall lining systems are based upon a unique high performance GFRP panel LSM-21 and integrated framing system. It says its Horizon wall lining was chosen as it meets the performance, cost, flexibility and durability requirements set by the airport.
