Nordex and Acciona Windpower have successfully completed the merger transaction announced last year.

Nordex explains that, starting today, both companies will join forces as the deal announced on 4th October 2015 has now closed successfully. The joint company is the resulting union of two renowned players within the wind industry – Nordex, with 31 years of experience and an installed capacity of more than 16 GW, and ACCIONA Windpower, with over 20 years of expertise and more than 6 GW installed.

Nordex claims that, with over 4,700 highly-qualified and experienced employees, and production facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the US and India, the company is one of the world’s largest and most-influential manufacturers of wind turbines and providers of associated services.

Nordex adds that the company’s joint Global Sourcing team will operate as one co-ordinated Team and is now fully in charge to handle the commercial relationships that will eventually press on Cost Reduction activities –  especially under a newly established Cost-of-Energy-Program ‘COE’ -, price negotiations and market share attribution.

On the operational side, to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to the business, established relationships with both Nordex and Acciona Windpower are to be maintained for the time being. We will keep you informed on the transition process and will communicate any changes in responsibilities that may be of interest to you.
