MDS Nordion are developing a new, CFRP automated treatment table for use with external beam radiation therapy systems.

The MDS Nordion table will feature an ergonomic design to ensure ease of operation and reduce patient set-up time by enabling operators to more easily transfer patients to the table and more accurately position them for treatment. A key attribute of the MDS Nordion table will be greater stability – a must for clinics wanting to offer more complex external beam radiation therapy treatments.

The table will include a large treatment opening and a carbon fibre tabletop making it easier for clinicians to access a variety of tumour sites.

“”The development of a new patient positioning table demonstrates MDS Nordion’s ongoing commitment to providing access to quality cancer care for people around the world,”” says John Corley, Senior Vice President, Ion Technologies at MDS Nordion. “”We’ve been providing effective and reliable cancer treatment solutions for more than 50 years.””
