Matrix Composites Recognised by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics for its Exceptional Customer Commitment

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics has recognised Matrix Composites for their attention to detail and customer commitment in 2012.

Matrix explains that Lockheed Martin relies heavily on its supply base to provide the key and critical components needed to meet their customer’s needs. Matrix became one of Lockheed Martin’s suppliers in 1996. Since that time, the company has achieved STAR Supplier status for quality, delivery, responsiveness and process control.

In April 2005, Matrix says it became one of only a few companies worldwide approved to manufacture resin transfer moulded carbon fibre structures for the F-22 Raptor aircraft. Since that time, various airframe, fuselage and vertical fin components have been manufactured in Rockledge, Florida, US, facility.

“In 2012, Matrix successfully delivered their product to us 100 percent on-time and with zero quality defects,” said Tom Simmons, Vice President of Supply Chain Management at Lockheed Martin. “We’d like to thank Matrix Composites and its employees for their commitment and attention to detail.”

Matrix’s President, David Nesbitt, responded “We have worked diligently to become one of Lockheed Martin’s top suppliers. The efforts have clearly paid off, and we are thrilled to play such a vital role in the production of the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft.”
