The opportunity for non-residential composites construction markets including petroleum, mining, ethanol, and wind energy are robust and expected to grow.
This is what Owens Corning’s Global Market Intelligence Leader Matt Lieser said in his keynote address to the American Composites Manufacturers Association’s (ACMA) Conference on Construction, Corrosion, and Infrastructure. The conference was held April 25-27 at Harrah’s Las Vegas. ACMA officials say they received a record number of registrations for both attendees and exhibitors.
In an advanced statement, Leiser said he would also elaborate on opportunities for composites in the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) market, as well as how steel and aluminium pricing is forecasted to remain above historical averages of the early 2000s. This will create even more opportunities for innovative composite applications.
