Reichhold is introducing a new series of low-styrene resins for marine applications, the DCPD-based NORPOL 506 Series, developed for the boat building industry to provide a marine laminating resin line with a styrene content below 35 percent.
The NORPOL 506 Series While meeting this environmental challenge, the resins provide a high-class surface finish due to less fiber print-through. This series is approved by both DNV (Det Norsk Veritas) and Lloyd’s Register of Shipping. A key feature of the 506 series is a reduction in shrinkage which provides an improved laminate surface. It is available in both low-styrene emission (LSE) and non-LSE versions.
The 506 series is also claimed to provide excellent spraying, rolling and wetting properties in addition to rapid curing and de-molding.
