Construction work is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2012 and completion is expected in 2013. According to Fernando Siqueira, Lord’s Projects Leader “In Itupeva, we will have 10,200 m² of built area, and the total area comprising 40,500 m² will still allow several expansions. Nowadays, all land occupied by Lord has 7,800 m². In other words, there will be no lack of space to fulfill our aggressive growth plan for the next twenty years”.
Sandro Leonhardt, Lord’s Regional Manager of South America, says that the new site will be critical for the company to be able to double the sales volume every five years, according to goal published last November during the visit to Brazil of Joe Marotta, LORD’s CEO in the Americas. “The new plant will start its operations with installed capacity twice larger than the current one””, he says.
Lord’s adhesives are mainly used to glue composite parts in light and heavy vehicles, such as bumpers, hoods and ceilings.
