Knight & Carver Wind Group has reached agreement with AES Wind Generation to manufacture a total of 60 wind blades for the company’s wind-power facility in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Under terms of the contract, the 25-meter blades will be built at Knight & Carver’s newly-opened facility in Howard, South Dakota. Blade design and pre-production is set to begin immediately, with initial deliveries slated for January 2008. The blades will serve as replacements for Zond 750 blades.

“This marks the beginning of what we believe will be a long-lasting relationship between our two companies,” said Gary Kanaby, Knight & Carver’s Director of Business Development. “We look forward to fulfilling the first phase of this agreement.”

The AES wind farm in Storm Lake, Iowa is located about 250 miles from Knight & Carver’s facility in South Dakota’s southeastern region. Opened in 1999, Storm Lake Wind Power Facility ranks as one of the world’s largest wind farms with more than 106 turbines covering four counties in Iowa.
