SAMPE’s Fall Technical Conference and Exhibition, co-located for the first time in Utah with SMEs Tooling for Composites conference, was well attended by advanced materials and processes (M&P) engineers, manufacturing engineers, scientists, technologists and educators from nearly two dozen countries, a 33% increase over last year.

The sold-out exhibit hall featured companies representing all facets of the industry.

SAMPEs fall exhibition continues to be a must-attend event, said Allan Crasto, PhD, SAMPE President and Associate Director at the University of Dayton Research Institute. “”This conference has become an essential event for serious M&P professionals, providing a well qualified audience of decision makers.””

The conference began with a keynote presentation by Dr. Gary Fischman titled Creating the Needed Materials for the 21st Century. Dr. Fischman is the Principal and owner of Future Strategy Solutions, Gambrills, Maryland.

This year’s SAMPE Conference Program included comprehensive programs ranging from nanocomposites to M&P support technologies. SMEs four sessions addressed all aspects of composite tooling. Conference attendees could attend both SAMPE and SME conference programs. The availability of dozens of sessions, panels, and featured lectures provided attendees the option to design their curriculum with subjects of their choosing.

“”Given the rapid generation of new information and technology, it is more important than ever that we provide conference programs that advanced M&P professionals can use to stay competitive ,”” said Dan Adams, SAMPE General Chair and Professor at the University of Utah. “”Our goal is to provide speakers that are timely and thought provoking, who focus on topics best suited for todays challenges.””
