Joint appearance of RAMPF Tooling Solutions and First Composites at Composites Europe 2014

RAMPF Tooling Solutions and First Composites will be sharing a stand during Composites Europe 2014, taking place 7-9 October in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The companies state the decision to appear together comes as a result of successful collaboration on the use of epoxy resins in composite materials.

“The combination of our materials and the application-based expertise of First Composites has produced outstanding application results,” explains Jochen Reiff, Head of Sales and Marketing at RAMPF Tooling Solutions.

“The additional factor of both companies’ extensive consultancy expertise ensures unparalleled added value for our customers,” says Dirk Krämer, Managing Director at First Composites.

RAMPF Tooling Solution states it will also launch RAKU-TOOL Close Contour Paste CP-6131 at the show. The company explains the material has been used in a prepreg lay-up tool for producing motor hoods, which will be exhibited at the stand. After post-curing, the paste has a temperature resistance of up to 170 °C, making it possible to produce prepreg parts with high-quality mechanical properties.

 “We are very pleased to be able to present RAKU-TOOL CP-6131 to visitors to the trade fair. Currently we are the only suppliers offering such a high-performance high-temperature paste,” says Heinz Horbanski, Managing Director at RAMPF Tooling Solutions.

A further highlight that RAMPF Tooling Solutions is exhibiting is a 1:30 scale model of a wind turbine blade. Its lay-up mold was produced using resin infusion and the composite construction process. The RAKU-TOOL Close Contour Paste CP-6060 used was specifically designed for the production of large models and molds in the wind power, shipbuilding, and automotive industries.

RAKU-TOOL Close Contour Paste CP-6060 has been used to create a model for a lay-up tool mold for producing wind turbine blades using the composite construction process.

A case study will also be presented on the manufacture of tools for producing functional and driving prototypes (over 100 passenger cells) for the BMWi3 using RAKU-TOOL Close Contour Casting CC-6506.
