Johns Manville introduced ThermoFlow 600, the first of a new generation of densified chopped strand glass fibres, at the China International Composites Industrial Technical Expo last week.

ThermoFlow 600 is densified chopped strand for PBT compounds, which is designed to exhibit outstanding colour performance for critical colour matching.

Available in 4 mm length in 10 and 13 fibre diameters, Johns Manville say that ThermoFlow 600 can be used in various electrical and electronic thermoplastics applications such as connectors, housings, relays, switches and motor end caps.

The material will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Trnava, Slovakia.

“Johns Manville is thrilled to be in a position to offer ThermoFlow chopped strand globally,” said Steven Bassetti, Global Reinforcement product manager in the company’s Engineered Products Group. “We are very excited to be in a position to serve the growing demand of the global thermoplastics market and make our customers stronger every day.”
