With growing global urbanisation and population exacerbating environmental concerns, the need for smarter and more sustainable mobility solutions are on the rise.

This new mobility landscape brings new opportunities for composites, including changes in car design, need for smarter materials to build lighter and more resilient components (batteries, simplified powertrains, sensors, and parts).

eMove360° Europe 2019 is the world’s largest trade fair for Mobility 4.0. It showcases the full range of future-oriented and sustainable mobility solutions, from urban & mobile design, material and process solutions, from automated driving and electronics to infotainment. After Mondial.Tech in Paris, and the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, JEC Group will organise the third Composites Pavilion during eMove 360° in Munich from 15/17 October 2019, sharing knowledge, innovation and developing networking around E-mobility.

Participants will get the chance to see our partners’ latest innovative products showcased on the pavilion. To name a few, Bcomp will present its EAV Cargo, a lightweight pedal-assisted four-wheel e-cargo bike using Bcomp’s powerRibs technology, and a rear wing for the Electric GT racing adapted TESLA car. Arevo, the manufacturer of the World’s First 3D-Printed Carbon-fibre Unibody Bike Frames will also display its namesake innovation on the pavilion.

On 15 October, from 2 pm to 3 pm on the Main Stage of the venue, JEC Group will organise a conference about ‘Smart & Sustainable Composite Solutions for Future Mobility’ where JEC composites experts and partners will present the benefits of composites in the development of electric, hybrid, but also connected and autonomous cars.

“The revolution towards cleaner mobility is putting much pressure on the industry. High-performance composites will have a significant role in this context. The need for innovative solutions like the powerRibs that reduce weight and use sustainable materials at neutral cost is rising,” says Ebba Carlson CMO & CFO at Bcomp. “The Pavilion represents an exciting approach to highlight composites for the e-mobility sector, thus contributing to build both the market as such and to strengthen our brand.”

“There is a growing consensus that e-mobility vehicles are an attractive solution to last-mile urban transportation problems. These are e-bikes and e-scooters today and eVTOL (e.g., flying taxis) shortly. There is a requirement to make these vehicles lightweight using composites for extending their range and ease of use features, says Hemant Bheda, Chairman and Cofounder of AREVO. JEC Composite Pavilion gives us an excellent platform to educate the composites community and potential customers about our new technology and how it enables on-demand manufacturing of next-generation composite parts for current and emerging e-mobility vehicles.”

“For this third pavilion, JEC Group and its partners will present parts and products proving the benefits of composites in the development of electric, hybrid, but also connected and autonomous cars. In fact, the automotive sector is accelerating the shift to electric and hybrid mobility, but also integrating alternative energy sources, like hydrogen. A parallel trend is about the evolution of connected cars towards more and more autonomous systems. In both cases, composite materials have a significant role to play thanks to their benefits. Composites enable not only light-weighting and design freedom, but also the integration of new functions like connectivity, battery housing & insulation, hydrogen fuel storage for CNG powered Vehicles,” says Eric Pierrejean, CEO of JEC Group.

Visit JEC Group and its partners from 15-17 October 2019 at eMove360° Europe 2019 in Hall 6, stand 602 at Messe München, Germany.
