JEC Asia Innovation Award Winners Unveiled

Twelve companies from eight different countries will receive a JEC Innovation Award at JEC Asia 2018, which takes place on 14-16 November in Seoul, South Korea.

The JEC Innovation Awards highlight how composites bring solutions considering the new challenges in terms of efficiency, sustainability and life-cycle analysis. The ceremony will take place on 15 November at the COEX Centre. Ida Daussy (Seo Hye-na) will host the ceremony in front of officials, manufacturers, scientists and composites professionals.

The winners are:

  • AEROSPACE – STRUCTURAL: CSIR National Aerospace Laboratories (India) – Innovative skin-ribs co-cured engine bay door;
  • AEROSPACE – TOOLING: Ascent Aerospace, Coast Composites – HyVarC Hybrid Invar / Composite Lay-up Moulds;
  • AUTOMOTIVE: Action Composites – Mass production CFRP Stabilisers and Droplinks;
  • COMMERCIAL VEHICLES: Kolon Industries – Smart Hybrid Composite Leaf Spring for Vehicles;
  • E-MOBILITY: Daimler – Vehicle Integrated Inductive Charging;
  • MARINE: Loiretech FABHELI – Composite Propeller;
  • RAILWAY: Saertex – Breakthrough in railways: the renovation of the ICE;
  • SPORTS & LEISURE: DYETEC Institute – Innovative CFRP manufacturing method for lightweight and high stiffness drone structures using graphene oxide;
  • INFRASTRUCTURE & CIVIL ENGINEERING: Centre for Future Materials – Easy fit and self-locking composite jacket;
  • INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT: Composite Technology Centre Stade – High-Performance Lightweight Robot Gripper System;
  • SUSTAINABILITY: Premium Aerotec – Recycling AFP residual tape with Patch Placement;
  • ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING: e-Xstream Engineering – Digimat for Additive Manufacturing
