JEC Announce Winners of the 2013 JEC Asia Innovation Awards

Companies from Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Europe along with their partners will receive trophies at JEC Asia Innovation Awards, taking place on 25 – 27 June in Singapore. 

Among them will be a selection of Special Japanese Innovation Awards to celebrate companies within Japan, who are the 2013 country of honour.

The JEC Innovation Awards programme is recognised as a tool in promoting innovation worldwide and is organised at the JEC Asia show, as well as JEC Europe in Paris, and JEC Americas in Boston.

JEC state the objective is to spot, promote and reward the most effective solutions that create more value for end-users. The jury has selected the best composite innovations break throughs, based on their technical interest, market potential, partnerships, financial & environmental impact and originality. The decision to give prominence to these projects was based on their atypical nature and various noteworthy attributes.

The awards will be given out to the following sectors to the mentioned companies:

  • Aeronautics (Winner: National Aerospace Laboratory, India)
  • Raw Materials (Winner: Composites Consulting Group, Australia)
  • Biocomposites (Winner: University of Nottingham, UK)
  • Recycling (Winner: Smithline Reinforced Composites, UAE)
  • Design (Winner: Gaius Automotive, Taiwan)
  • Process (Winner: Lotte Chemical Corp, Republic of Korea)
  • Non Destructive Testing (Winner: SURAGUS, Germany)
  • Automotive (Winner: Hyundai Motor Company, Republic of Korea)
  • Civil Engineering (Winner: Everlast Composites, India)
  • Defence and Protection (Winner: VCAMM, Australia)

The Special Japanese Innovation Awards will be awarded to:

  • Urban Sanitation (Japan Global Center for Urban Sanitation, Japan Sewage Works Association)
  • Renovation (Mitsubishi Plastics Infratec, Takenaka Corporation, Constec Engi, Sanko Techno, Bond Engineering, Konishi)
  • Raw Materials (Nagase ChemteX Corporation)
  • Energy (AGC Matex Corporation).

Tsuneaki Yanagida, President of FRP Services and co. will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
