Xamax Industries has granted an intellectual property license to Berry Plastics for its thermoplastic surfacing laminate products and technology used in the production of various Continuous fibre reinforced thermoplastic material (CFRTP) systems and thermoplastic sandwich panels.

According to Berry, its FloLam thermoplastic surfacing laminate products are designed and developed as a component for various continuous fibre reinforced thermoplastic material (CFRTP) systems and thermoplastic sandwich panels. It explains that FloLam bonds to the surface of CFRTP/panel substrate and becomes the smooth protective outer surface, adding cosmetic appeal, hide glass print through, extend product useful life, and can be manufactured with a variety of additives such as UV inhibitors, flame retardants, antimicrobials, and custom pigments to match your colour requirements. FloLam is specially engineered to withstand the rigorous processing temperatures and conditions of CFRTP systems.

It is Xamax and Berry’s mutual objective to strengthen the support for existing applications, and investigate the market to support emerging technologies and future applications with new products.
