Interplastic Corporation is raising the price of CoREZYN and Silmar brand polyester and vinyl ester resins, gel coats, colorants and putties $0.07 per pound on all shipments on or after February 11, 2012, and the price of its sheet moulding composite (SMC) products $0.03 to $0.05 per pound on all shipments on or after February 15, 2012.

Interplastic explain that it is driven by higher costs for several raw materials used in the manufacture of polyester and vinyl ester resins and gel coat products as well as increased feedstock costs and rising global demand during the first quarter.

“Interplastic Molding Products Division understands the challenging market we face; however, basic raw materials are expected to continue rising into the New Year and these costs can no longer be absorbed,” stated Darrell Young, National Sales Manager of Interplastic Corporation’s Molding Products Division. “Interplastic’s Molding Products Division appreciates the understanding and continued support of its customers and will do everything possible to keep these cost increases to a minimum”.
