Interplastic and Ashland have both announced a price increase of up to $0.04 per pound on their unsaturated polyester, vinylester and gel coats.

Interplastic announced a price increase of up to $0.04 per pound on its full line of CoREZYN® and Silmar® brand unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, specialty resin products and gel coats, for shipments on or after October 20, 2003. The price increase will effect off-list pricing only.

“This price increase has been initiated due to continued pressure from crude oil on all its derivatives, including Ethylene, Benzene, Styrene Monomer and Glycols. The continued high natural gas and transportation costs are also contributing to this action,” explained Steve Wetzel, National Sales Manager.

Ashland Specialty Chemical Company is increasing by 4 cents per pound (USD) the off-list price of its polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, low-profile additives and gel coats. This price increase will also be effective with shipments on and after October 20, 2003.
