Integrated Composites of Marina, California has completed the purchase of Advanced Composite Concepts (ACC), Scotts Valley, California.

ACC is a major supplier of advanced composites structures for the high-end sailing industry including America Cup and other racing venues. ACC will relocate its activities to Marina to take advantage of Integrated Composites’ 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility as well as its design and engineering capabilities. ACC will retain its individual identity as a marine manufacturer albeit with a new name – ACC Marine. It will focus its attention on the racing and high-end cruiser sailing market with an advanced composite product line including; steering systems (wheels, pedestals, quadrants, bearings, rudder stock and blades), spinnaker poles and sprit tubes, spars, and interiors. Production on a rudder for a Bill King 154’ is currently proceeding at the Marina facility and will be the first production item shipped from there.

Joe Johnson, CEO of Integrated Composites, has been negotiating with the owner of ACC for approximately 8 months and is thrilled about the acquisition. “This gives Integrated Composites a foothold in a very exciting commercial application for our technologies and materials.” He went on to add, “Integrated Composites expects to bring the same high level of quality to our new line of marine products that we provide our aerospace and defense customers while still being very price competitive through better utilization of our facilities”.
