Huber Engineered Materials increasing the price of its industrial calcium carbonate products manufactured in Georgia, US, effective from September 1st 2012, or as current contracts allow.

According to Huber, list prices will increase an average of five to eight percent, depending on the product grade and packaging. “Huber continues to work diligently to improve productivity and processing efficiencies to minimize the impact of continued rising costs for raw materials, energy, mining, packaging, product development, freight and environmental and safety compliance,” says David Riley, Vice President and General Manager of Huber’s Industrial Calcium Carbonate business unit.

“Unfortunately, despite these efforts, a price increase is necessary to ensure the high level of product quality and consistency and industry-leading service our customers expect.”

Huber says its industrial calcium carbonate products are used in a variety of consumer and industrial applications, including adhesives, caulks and sealants; paints and coatings; thermoset composites; thermoplastics; swimming pool aggregate; and cultured marble.
