Hitco Carbon Composites will provide Aerojet Gencorp with the booster nose fairing that will ultimately be part of the Lockheed Martin Atlas V launch vehicle.

The Atlas V was developed to provide dependable and more affordable access to space over current launch systems as part of the U.S. Air Force’s “”Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle Program (or EELV). Commercial and government satellite customers will benefit from more reliable, less costly satellite launches into space. This award places HITCO products on both “”heavy launch”” vehicles produced by U.S. manufacturers as well as, the Space Shuttle.

“”We are pleased to renew old ties with Aerojet by adding them once more to our customer base. We look forward to furthering business opportunities with Aerojet in the future,”” remarked HITCO President, Paul Pendorf.
