Gurit has won its first contract for a wind turbine blade mould to be delivered to a customer in Europe from the Gurit Tooling plant in China.
Red Maple, the tooling business of Gurit, has signed a first contract for a wind turbine blade mould to be delivered to a customer in Europe. The mould is to be developed and manufactured at the new production site of Red Maple in Taicang/PR China. This new production facility is especially designed for the manufacture of next-generation blade moulds for wind turbines of up to 7 MW.
This European order follows shipments of several blade moulds to European-controlled customers in China as well as the delivery of moulds to two customers in India in the current year 2010.
“The rising interest from international customers in our tooling offering is very encouraging,” commented Rudolf Hadorn, CEO of Gurit.
