Gurit has a new tolling arrangement with composite kit manufacturer Mahogany Company of Mays Landing, New Jersey, US, for the fabrication of its B³ SmartPac solution.

Gurit claim that following its recent global re-structure to improve future growth both as a supplier of composite materials and as a systems and engineering provider, Gurit has decided to streamline its B³ SmartPac operations in Bristol, Rhode Island, US, and toll produce all North American B³ SmartPac kits in conjunction with Mahogany Company of Mays Landing.

Gurit say Mahogany Company brings experience in kit cutting and will fabricate all B³ SmartPac kits to existing specifications, utilising the same innovative labelling and packaging techniques that have come to define the B³ SmartPac solution. Gurit’s sales, customer support and structural engineering teams will continue to operate from the Bristol, Rhode Island office.

Lance Hill, Gurit’s Regional Sales Director, America’s comments, “Our agreement with Mahogany will bring together Gurit’s vast materials and design capabilities with the wealth of kitting experience of Mahogany which will benefit our customers in terms of service and product offering”.

Gurit say its B³ SmartPac is a construction solution that helps builders manufacture composite components more efficiently and cost-effectively than ever before. The B³ SmartPac solution comprises optimised structural design with pre-cut reinforcements and core materials, designed to reduce complexity and cost in production boatbuilding.
