Gurit has hailed its customer, Baltic Yachts, on winning the prestigious title Sailing Yacht of the Year Award at the World Superyacht Award 2014, as well as successfully launching the one foot longer hi-tech racer-cruiser Baltic 108 WinWin.
According to Gurit, the company provided advanced composite materials including Prime 20, Ampreg resin and adhesives to the manufacturing process of the Baltic 107, a lightweight, high performance sloop, designed by Frers Naval Architecture & Engineering to achieve fast, efficient and comfortable cruising.
Describing its contribution towards the Baltic 108 WinWin, a high-tech racer-cruiser designed by Javier Jaudenes, Gurit says the company was responsible for the structural engineering required for the automated glass bulkhead to ensure an uninterrupted transition between interior and exterior.
In addition, Gurit also contributed a materials package including SE 84LV high-strength epoxy prepreg materials with Gurit Corecell M-Foam and Ampreg 22 for secondary bonding.
