Gurit Composites Technologies Extends Product Range

GURIT Suprem, based in Flurlingen, Switzerland, has acquired Plytron GmbH, of Markdorf, Germany.

Plytron’s complementary technology extends Gurit Suprem’s product range and strengthens its position as a specialist in unidirectional reinforced thermoplastics.

Plytron produces unidirectional (UD) PP-glass fibre/polypropylene (PP) prepreg used mainly in furniture and automotive industries. Gurit Suprem is a producer of UD reinforced thermoplastics offering tapes and profiles (SUPreMÔ) made in a proprietary impregnation technology to fulfill highly demanding or customized applications. The acquisition of Plytron extends the Gurit Suprem product range to enter high volume composite markets with a competitive and complementary manufacturing technology. Gurit Suprem strengthens its position as the specialist of UD-reinforced, thermoplastic composite materials.
