GMS Composites is promoting its latest range of high-performance prepregs for the first time at JEC Asia 2013 on the Carbon Nexus stand (J20) in Singapore from 25 – 27 June.
GMS say that the standard range of over 10 different prepregs currently manufactured by GMS Composites includes two tooling options. Firstly, the BP-190, which is a high temperature BMI resin tooling prepreg and, secondly, the EP-250, which is a high-Tg, low-temperature cure epoxy tooling prepreg. For particularly demanding applications, the range includes prepreg systems with enhanced performance attributes, such as: EP-290, a carbon-nanoparticle-toughened epoxy resin matrix prepreg; EP-530, a UL94 V-0 rated fire-retardant epoxy prepreg resin; and EP-620, a ballistic-level, impact- resistant epoxy prepreg resin, which was first launched at JEC Europe earlier this year.
The company states that all of its prepreg resins can be combined with a wide range of reinforcement fabrics made from carbon, aramid, S-glass or polyethylene fibres, to mould components designed for a variety of aerospace, defence, rail, automotive and motorsport applications.
As part of its continued business expansion, GMS Composites is exhibiting at JEC Asia 2013 to find and appoint suitable new agents and distributors, based in Asia, who specialise in the supply of advanced composites to the key target markets. Sam Weller, managing director of GMS Composites, will be available for all three days of the show for meetings with any interested agents or regional distributors, as well as for technical discussions with potential new customers about their specific composite-prepreg needs.
