GKN Aerospace has been awarded a life of programme contract by Dassault Aviation to design and build the wing moveable surfaces for its next generation business jet platform.

GKN Aerospace say that the work will be undertaken at their Filton plant and represents the first major new customer business win for the facility.

GKN Aerospace at Filton will be responsible for the complete design, component manufacture and assembly of wing moveable surfaces, with first production deliveries in 2013. The company aims to bring significant performance, weight and cost benefits to the wing of Dassault’s new airframe and already has engineering teams working on the programme, co-located in facilities in France and Bristol, UK.
