Gibson Fiberglass announced today a price increase of 15% – 18% per pound for all fiberglass materials direct and multi end roving products, as well as, chopped strand BMC / Thermoplastic, chopped strand mat, woven roving, and all other roll goods.

The increase applies to all shipments delivered on or after January 1, 2010.

According to Joe Peng, President of Gibson fiberglass, “The recent recession has been a burden on the entire composites industry, but fiberglass manufacturers have been particularly hard hit. Our energy costs, manufacturing costs, raw material costs, and logistics costs have not dropped significantly during this period. This increase is necessary to help cover the costs increases we are experiencing in these areas.”
