Gibson Fiberglass will be implementing an increase of 7-15% for all fiberglass materials, including direct and multi-end roving products, chopped strands for BMC and thermoplastics, chopped strand mat, woven roving, and all other roll goods.

The increase applies to all shipments delivered on or after January 01, 2011.

According to Joe Peng, President of Gibson Fiberglass, We spent a significant amount of capital in 2010 to add capacity for thermoplastic chopped strands and multi-end assembled rovings. This was in response to shortages experienced by manufacturers using these products.

While many companies were contracting due to the economic down turn, we actually expanded our capacity and manufacturing capabilities. This increase will help offset some of the investments which we have already made in support of the composites industry, according to Peng.
