Gibson Fiberglass Increase Price for All Fibreglass Reinforcements. Gibson Fiberglass will be increasing prices by $0.06 / lb. to $0.09 / lb. for all its fiberglass materials. This includes direct and multi-end roving products, chopped strands for BMC and thermoplastics, chopped strand mat, woven roving, and all other roll goods.

The increase applies to all shipments delivered on or after April 1, 2010.

According to Joe Peng, President of Gibson fiberglass, “Freight costs have increased significantly since the end of the year and will increase again in March. Freight carriers are trying to recover from a drop in profitability below investment levels last year due to decreased demand.”

“While this increase may not cover all of our increased costs, it is necessary to maintain our viability in the reinforcements market,” continued Peng.
