Gulf Composite Materials (GCM) of Dubai, U.A.E. has enhanced its prepreg product line by developing new technology allowing prepreg production from phenolic resins.

GCM say that unlike other commercial phenolic prepregs, these new Phepreg products have up to six months shelf life at normal ambient temperature (i.e.: 20-23°C), are easy to handle and provide outstanding FST performance.

Further to this, GCM has successfully introduced a third prepreg line using epoxy resins with a maximum Tg range of 115-140°C. The new Ep-preg products, designed for vacuum and autoclave curing processes, are said to have a shelf life of up to two months at normal ambient temperature (i.e.: 20-23°C), they are easy to handle and are reported to have outstanding mechanical performance.

GMC is best known for its specialty epoxy vinyl ester prepregs, Simprex and UV-preg. With these latest products, the company aims to make a big impact in the marine, transportation, and renewable energy markets.
