The UK’s Engineering Industries Association (EIA) and the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) have received confirmation of government funding for UK engineering companies to exhibit at overseas trade shows.
Eligible UK SME companies could receive grants of between £1,500 and £2,500 towards the cost of exhibiting, depending on the location of the show.
The 2018-2019 programme covers engineering shows in China, Germany, India – Bangalore, Oman, Poland, Malaysia, Thailand, UAE, the US and Vietnam.
“There has never been a better time for companies to export their products with the value of the pound making UK products and services very competitive against competitors in overseas markets,” reports Karen Finegold, Executive Director of the EIA. “The Department for International Trade and the Institute of Export can offer assistance to companies who have never exported before offering guidance on selling overseas from researching the market, documentation and export finance, and we can assist them with their preparation for attending the fair and offer our market experience. Exhibitions overseas are very well attended with visitors often reaching over 70,000 and attracting over 1,000 exhibitors. UK products are well received globally.”
