Fibres Recherche Développement (FRD) will showcase its expertise in plant fibres, from the choice of reinforcement (UD, multiaxial, rovings, nonwovens, fabrics) to their integration in materials (functionalisation, formulation, implementation in composites by vacuum infusion, compression moulding, hand lay up, support for parts design and mechanical characterisation) at JEC World.

As part of the SINFONI project, FRD will promote the first vegetable fibre train cabin, which will be exhibited on the planet Automotive & Land Transportation in Hall 6.

Vegetable technical fibres (linen, hemp) are a source of eco-design of composite parts for railways:

  • Replacing the fibreglass by vegetable reinforcements (fabrics, non-woven)
  • Using renewable resources
  • By lightening the finished part

Visit FRD in Hall 6, Stand G80 at JEC World 2017.
