Following a recent audit by the National Quality Association (NQA), Forward Composites has achieved AS9100C certification.

This standard, which is for quality management systems, incorporates the requirements of ISO9001:2008 and includes additional requirements and definitions specific to the aviation, space and defence industries.

Managing Director, Paul Jackson said, “We are delighted to have achieved this certification in such a short time. We have an excellent team of highly skilled and committed people who have been operating within the AS9100 framework for many years. Their effort and buy-in from every department, along with our solid, quality systems have enabled us to gain this very important certification. Forward Composites is committed to continuous improvement and quality is at the heart of everything we do.”

Quality Manager Ford Buchanan added, “With so much of our core business being in aerospace and defence, achieving AS9100C certification at an early stage was an essential part of our corporate strategy. We are a young company but operate a mature quality management system and the workforce is made up of people experienced in working under that system. With proven processes and equipment supported by competent operators, we have been able to work effectively from the start. These factors have enabled us to implement and demonstrate a fully compliant system in a relatively short time. To have done so with zero non-conformances on our first certification audit is a real testament to the knowledge and diligence that runs throughout Forward Composites.”
