Former Lola Composites colleagues Paul Jackson and Ed Collings have formed a new company, Forward Composites.

The new firm will operate from Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, UK in the premises formerly used by Lola Composites, which has a full complement of plant & machinery, as well as extensive engineering and quality control systems. It is the intention to acquire AS9100 Rev C accreditation.

According to Forward Composites, Jackson’s excellent reputation in the composites industry has been built on a solid foundation, with over 25 years of experience. Commenting on the launch of the new company, he said, “We recognised at the start of this venture that its success would depend on the expertise and professionalism of our staff. We now have a workforce with the right blend of skills and experience to deliver high quality products and offer an excellent service to our customers, offering end to end capability. There is a real buzz throughout the whole team and motivation is high to get Forward Composites to the top of our target industries: Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Communications and Motorsport. To this end we have a great head start as we have already won a UAV program”.

The company went on to add that fellow director Ed Collings has an equally impressive CV, including design and analysis of composites structures in motorsport including F1 and sports cars, aerospace and defence. Collings commented, “Forward Composites will use engineering excellence to create the best possible business solutions for our clients. This means that every project we take on will be designed to find the perfect balance between all relevant considerations: performance, engineering, efficiency of manufacture, delivery time, aesthetic qualities, cost and more. We think beyond “How light can we make this” and ask “How light does it need to be – and could we in fact deliver the full required performance in a more efficient manner”.

Forward Composites say they aim to provide an exceptional combination of composite materials, design, and expertise in manufacturing, which will be immediately available to customers across the globe.
