Controlling corrosion in concrete trenches, channels and drainage systems can be challenging for contractors and end users, but FiberSystems’ FiberTUFF kit offers a portable solution for harsh field environments where cost efficient, high-performance repair and maintenance is crucial.
According to FiberSystems, the FRP fabricator combines a customised corrosion resistant resin system with Cerex, a chemical and thermal resistant reinforcement. Cerex fabric is comprised of nylon filaments spun and autogenously bonded for strength and uniformity.
FiberSystems explains that contractors and end users can eliminate corrosion and can armor or reinforce a range of materials in the field. Based on the application, the field kit can be equipped with a cost-efficient, corrosion-resistant methacrylate epoxy resin system and either Advantaex, a high-strength glass fiber reinforcement or Cerex.
“We determine the resin/reinforcement combination based on the job at hand to provide the customer with an optimal solution that is also an inexpensive fix,” says Tim Morton, Vice President of Operations for FiberSystems.
FiberTUFF kits are designed to offer a quick, easy to apply solution for materials exposed to corrosive, high impact or harsh chemical environments. Kits can also be customised to include fire retardant epoxy vinylester resins, phenolics, or furans which provide an ASTM E-84 flame spread rating of under 25 ft.
