Fiberforge to Produce Bombardier Window Bezel

Fiberforge, in collaboration with Marquez Transtech ltd, is to utilise thermoformed composites in its Bombadier window bezel design.

The thermoformed window bezel is the main structural component of a window frame assembly and therefore an integral component to the success of the retrofit project for the Bombadier Challenger aircraft.

Using the Fiberforge manufacturing process enables manufacturers to take advantage of long unidirectional fibres to provide a light yet very stiff and structural part.

In this application, manufacturers say that this is critical to this application in maintaining a hermetic seal as the part cycles through a wide temperature range.

Fiberforge claim that this manufacturing process limits the amount of material waste while providing a part that has the performance and dimensional precision commonly associated with an automated manufacturing process.
