Fibaflo Acquires Plant and Business from Fiberdur-Vanck GmbH Fibaflo Limited of Poole, Dorset and Fiberdur-Vanck of Aachen, Germany have announced the sale of Fiberdur-Vanck’s Aldenhoven plant and business to Fibaflo, effective on December 31st 2001.

Fibaflo is setting up a new company, Fibagroup Limited, which will form the combined sales and holding company for the new group. Fibaflo is one of the UK’s leading composite manufacturers; filament winding pipes and tubes up to three metres in diameter. The company is extensively involved in precision machining of composite tubular components and in the fabrication of sophisticated composite structures.

The Aldenhoven plant is one of the largest and most up-to-date filament winding facilities in Europe. Installed in 1995, it has capacity to wind pipes in diameters from 25mm upwards, using primarily vinylester and epoxy resins. The plant has supplied pipe systems throughout Europe to a wide range of industries, from chemical process companies and power utilities to civil engineering contractors. The two businesses complement each other and considerable synergy is anticipated.

David Lloyd-Jacob, Chairman of Fibaflo, said, “”All current product lines from Aldenhoven will be continued. The new group’s high potential volume of precision filament winding, machining and fabrication will give us the opportunity to develop new markets and customers.”” Hans Bauer, Vice President, Sales, of Fiberdur-Vanck, said, “”The two companies have excellent reputations for quality and innovation, and I believe that our customers will benefit from the combination of capabilities and skills.””
