Ferrari unveiled its new F2002 car for the upcoming Formula 1 season. It weighs about 600 kilograms with oil, water and driver, with a new carbon fibre chassis.
The F2002 is 4.495 meters long, 1.79 meters wide and is 959 millimeters high. The car is powered by Ferrari’s 051 V10-cylinder 2997cc cast- aluminium engine. Its digital eletronic fuel injection system is supplied by Magneti Marelli as is its electronic starter. Ferrari has also developed the car’s horizontal transmission that has a self-blocking differential and an electronically controlled semi-automatic shift with seven forward gears and one reverse. Ferrari last season won the F1 world constructors’ championship as well as the driver’s title with Michael Schumacher
