The FARR 400 One Design, the new, all carbon, one design racer designed by FARR Yacht Design and built by Premier Composite Technologies has scooped up two awards: the Sailing World magazine’s Boat of the Year 2012 Award and Sail Magazines Best Performance 30ft and Over Award.

According to FARR, the Sailing World awards, which are now in their 26th year, recognise and honour the best new sailboat models introduced to the North American market, having been examined and tested by a panel consisting of magazine editors and selected members of judges.

Hannes Waimer, MD, Premier Composite Technologies comments “As builders of the FARR 400, we are tremendously proud of this achievement. The Sailing World Boat of the Year award is renowned in the American market for choosing boats that are designed and built with serious racing in mind and this was exactly our objective in building the new FARR 400.”

Bruce Farr, comments “It’s a grand-prix one-design and distance-race sprinter rolled into one.”

Sailing World added “The finish quality, the judges each agreed, was outstanding.”

FARR explain that their FARR 400 is still riding on the success of another recent win, having recently scooped up the award for Sail Magazines Best Performance 30ft and over category that was announced at the end of last year. They say the racer will be on display at the Boot International Boat Show in Dusseldorf, booth 16A37, 21 – 29th January 2012.
