BÜFA Composite Systems has made great progress in enlarging its production site in Rastede, Germany.
At the beginning of this year, BÜFA Composite Systems started with the expansion of its production site. It has now provided information of progress made. BÜFA explains that structural work began in August with the laying of the foundations and the core of the building has since been erected. The first production areas are expected to become operative at the end of January 2017 with the main construction works being concluded during mid-2017.
According to BÜFA, approximately 13.5 million Euros are being invested in the expansion, which covers an area of around 8,000 m². This investment enables the optimisation of operational processes and the elimination of spatial bottlenecks, so allowing the company to profit from its growth prospects. The investment is also seen as being a commitment to the Northwest Region of Germany, securing jobs locally rather than relocating them abroad.
BÜFA sees growth perspectives particularly in the sector of fire retardant systems, which are employed, for example, in the construction of rail vehicles. BÜFA Composite Systems’ employees occupy themselves with finding solutions to better protect bus and train passengers in the event of a fire, developing and producing composites of minimal flammability. “We have had our own development and application technology since 1964 und, since 1972, we have been building machines for the optimal handling of our products. This is a significant, unique feature in the composite industry”, explained CEO Kempf, referring to the innovative power of BÜFA Composite Systems.
