EuCIA and GlassFibreEurope, facilitated by their presidents, Volker Fritz and Mauro Malanchini, have agreed to work together in order to strengthen the position of reinforced composites in Europe.

As of June 1st, GlassFibreEurope will join the membership of EuCIA, the European Composite Industry Association, which is based in Brussels, Belgium. Through their members, EuCIA represents almost 10,000 companies and 150,000 employees.

Axel Jorns, General Secretary of GlassFibreEurope stated, “Our organisation is glad to collaborate with EuCIA. By reinforcing plastic material with our glass fibres, we are reducing energy consumption through substantial weight reduction of applications to make a significant contribution to sustainability in Europe. We are enabling innovation, creating quality of life and facilitating resources and energy efficiency as well as climate protection. The partnership with EuCIA is a logical step in order to serve our markets better”.

Catherine Gils, EuCIA’s Group Manager added, “EuCIA is proud that such an important organisation has joined us. Glass fibres are a substantial part of the composite value chain. Having such an organisation on board definitely enriches our work for composites materials.”
