EPSRC Future Composites Manufacturing Research Hub (‘CIMComp’)

The EPSRC Future Composites Manufacturing Research Hub will be showcasing results from its core projects and emerging research from current feasibility studies at the upcoming Advanced Engineering Show.   

During the show, CIMComp will lead a forum session taking place on Day 1, 30 October in the Composite Engineering Forum between 1pm and 2pm. Chaired by Dr Lee Harper, Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham and Hub Manager. The forum will be an opportunity to find out more about how the Hub works as well as highlighting the latest findings of the projects. The agenda is: 

  • Overview of the EPSRC Future Composites Manufacturing Research Hub, Prof. Nick Warrior, Hub Director, University of Nottingham.
  • Composites Research Challenge Landscape, Dr Richard Gravelle, Research & Business Development Manager, University of Nottingham.
  • Technologies Framework for Automated Dry Fibre Placement, Dr Anthony Evans, Research Fellow, University of Nottingham.
  • Manufacturing for Structural Applications of Multifunctional Composites, Dr David Anthony, Research Technician, Imperial College, London.
  • Active Control of the RTM Process Under Uncertainty Using Fast Algorithms, Dr Andreas Endruweit, Associate Professor, University of Nottingham.
  • Controlled Micro Integration of Through Thickness Polymeric Yarns, Dr Ed Archer, Senior Lecturer, Ulster University.
  • An Innovative Approach to Manufacturing Closed-Section Composite Profiles, Dr Shuai Chen, Research Fellow, University of Nottingham. 

Hub Manager, Lee Harper said, “We are looking forward to presenting at the show and welcome industry to visit our stand, to learn how they can engage with the Hub.”
