The company states that a vast majority of the site’s ground works has been completed.
Just six weeks after signing contractual agreements to develop the 60,000 sq ft bespoke building in the heart of Derby, UK the buildings steel frame has been erected and its roof has been laid.
When finished, the company says new factory will be almost treble the size of the its existing site in Draycott, Derbyshire, will include an industry-leading research and development centre and have the capabilities to quadruple its existing output.
epm: technology group’s Managing Director, Graham Mulholland, believes the £6.5 million project is approximately four weeks ahead of schedule and, weather permitting, will be completed by Easter next year.
He said, “Thanks to the incredible drive and determination of all involved, the development of our new factory right in the heart of Derby is taking shape at an unbelievable pace, but that’s in our DNA.
“At this rate and weather permitting, we are now hoping to have the building fully watertight by Christmas which really would be an incredibly proud achievement for all concerned.”
Paying tribute to the local contractors he has employed to complete the entire project, Mr Mulholland added, “As I’ve said before, Derby is a city is founded on a culture of people with the capabilities to make things happen and this is something that’s proving so true for epm:technology right now.
“My decision to employ local and regional expertise wasn’t just made out of passion for area, but because of my confidence in all those skills around me and, even though we are less than two months into the project, it appears that decision was the best one I could have made.”
“Our new facility will be the first of its kind here in the UK, possibly, Europe. When complete, it will not only increase our productivity but complete my vision as being an industry leader for composite engineering.”
