Following consecutive wins in the Eco Responsibility category of the ISPO Awards; Entropy Resins is represented in 2012 with the Niche Story snowboard.
According to Entropy, Niche Snowboards, based out of Salt Lake City, Utah, combines a proprietary blend of Entropy’s Super Sap sustainable epoxy with other recycled and sustainable materials to make the industry’s most eco-friendly snowboard products.
“The Niche Story Snowboard is a well thought through product with carefully selected, sustainable materials such as the FSC certified wood core and Hemp Stringers to replace Carbon Fibre. Critical substances have been removed, such as the surface lacquer, or replaced with recycled materials,” states Professor Dr. Michael Braungart of Erasmus University in Germany, one of the judges for the ISPO Awards.
Entropy say this marks the third straight time a product using an Entropy Super Sap epoxy system has won the award. In 2010 and 2011, Volkl Sports of Straubing, Germany, won the award for its Eco Amaruq and Nawarro Rental productsrespectively.
“We are proud to be part of our customers’ success in demonstrating how the snow sports industry can take a crucial step towards environmental responsibility. Of all the action sports industries, we feel the snow sports industry has the greatest vested interested in reducing their impacts on the environment and curbing the threat of global warming,” states Bob Scarpitto, Director of Sales for Entropy Resins.
