The German Reinforced Plastics Federation (AVK) and the European Composites Industry (EuCIA) have made their way to Düsseldorf, Germany, close to the International AVK Conference and the Composites Europe show.

This year, the International AVK Conference will be held on the 8 – 9 October at the Congress Center Düsseldorf (DCC), Germany, and it will be followed by the Composites Europe show on 9 -11 October 2012 which take place at the Messe Düsseldorf, Germany.

The two organisations have set the foundations for the Composites Europe show and this year, held for the 6th time, they are looking forward welcoming both visitors and exhibitors. The organiser, Reed Exhibitions, says it is confident it will attract a larger number of participants than in previous years.

Dr. Elmar Witten, AVK Managing Director, and Volker Fritz, EuCIA President, have landed in Düsseldorf with their Double Scull boat made of composites. Both organisations are pulling sculls and oars to promote the use of composite materials for various applications.

Witten noted: “We are representing more than 200 Members in Germany and together with the European representative body of the industry – we are making sure that the composites industry is moving forward.” Fritz added: “There are many common projects both at national and European level that could be used for the successful benefit of the entire industry”.

AVK and EuCIA will be sharing a booth at the Composites Europe show and can be found in hall 8a/G51.
