Dynetek Industries Ltd. has launched a new application for its Advanced Lightweight Fuel Storage Systems. Dynetek now provides storage for compressed oxygen. Its first customer is Gas Ex Avalanche Control, a British Columbia company, for its avalanche control systems used by the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Highways.

Dynetek manufactures the cylinders with a seamless aluminum liner and a carbon fibre overwrap. Developing this unit is the first of Dynetek’s proven research and development applications for bulk storage of compressed gases in addition to natural gas and hydrogen. Dynetek supplied six units to Gas Ex, each containing six cylinders. The units are flown to the avalanche control site where they are dropped in place and connected to the Gas Ex system.

“”The market for these units is global. We are currently pursuing opportunities in North and South America and Europe,”” says Robb Thompson, Dynetek’s Chief Financial Officer. “”This is just the start. Our market research concludes there are a multitude of applications where our lightweight storage systems can provide substantial economic benefits in the transport of compressed gases.””
