Dow Automotive Systems will present an update of VORAFORCE 5300, its epoxy resin matrix system for high-pressure Resin Transfer moulded composites, at JEC Europe 2015.
According to Dow Automotive, it can now offer under 60-second moulding cycle times for high pressure Resin Transfer moulding (HP RTM) or Wet Compression with VORAFORCE 5300 resin matrix, enabling mass production of carbon fibre composites.
Peter Cate, Global Strategic Marketing Manager, comments on VORAFORCE 5300, “Our novel formulation enables ultra-fast infusion and curing, while its super low viscosity also increases part consolidation potential in structural automotive composite production. With this new system we can meet the demand of automotive OEMs to achieve affordable lightweight manufacture of true high volume part production. In 2015 we present an advanced level of it with higher thermal performance, moulding cycle times of around 30 seconds and further flexibility advances, solving critical customer manufacturing issues”.
A VORAFORCE 5300 Tech Talk will be presented at the stand at 14:00 on 10 March and again at 11:00 on 11 March.
Dow Automotive Systems can be found in Hall 7.3, Stand K19.
